Remi Arts, Inc. is a New York-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that produces cultural and performing arts documentaries. The company was co-founded in 1997 by Regina Resnik and Michael Philip Davis, who were mother and son.

In honor of Remi Arts Inc.’s twentieth anniversary season, Michael Philip Davis wrote, produced and co-directed (with Robert Fredette) the award-winning documentary Regina Resnik: New York Original, streaming on CUNY TV New York HERE. The film traces the remarkable 70-year career of Regina Resnik (1922-2013), the Bronx-born international opera star, Tony®-nominated Broadway actress, stage director, filmmaker and Jewish cultural figure. The program features on-screen interviews with Broadway legends Harold Prince and Joel Grey; opera stars Martina Arroyo and Teresa Stratas; and Maestros Richard Bonynge, Zubin Mehta and Craig Rutenberg. Ms. Arroyo introduces the film onscreen. Renowned mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves is the narrator.

In 2018 Regina Resnik: New York Original won the 2018 Silver Telly Award for Television Biography; the Communicator Award of Excellence in Film / Video-Documentary; and the Communicator Award of Distinction in Film / Video-History / Biography; and was named Best Documentary at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival (LAIFF).

Previously, Remi Arts’ documentaries, Regina Resnik Presents Colors of the Diaspora and Geto: The Historic Jewish Ghetto of Venice, were shown on CUNY TV and WNET / Channel 13, respectively, Both documentaries portray elements of the Jewish experience in the greater context of art and history, and were released on DVD by Video Artists International. Its recent film productions include Regina Resnik Presents Colors of the Diaspora, shown on CUNY TV, and Geto: The Historic Jewish Ghetto of Venice, shown on WNET / Channel 13.           Remi Arts, Inc. was originally conceived as a live concert series narrated by Ms. Resnik and Mr. Davis in 1997, performing under the title Regina Resnik Presents. The company gradually transformed into a documentary film entity, including filmed live performances, all narrated by Ms. Resnik until her passing in August 2013.

Ms. Resnik served as President from 1997 to 2013. Upon her death she was succeeded by Mr. Davis as President & Executive Director. Board member Allen Greenberg became Treasurer.
